Como se já não fosse engraçada o bastante se passando na atualidade, a web-série de sucesso ganhou um episódio especial, relembrando maneirismos, referências, polêmicas e causos da capital gaúcha de 30 e tantos anos atrás.

Inicialmente, um teaser foi lançado:

Após o lançamento oficial na festa retrô Balonê (que inclusive é citada no vídeo), a internet recebeu a obra na íntegra:

Quando o diretor Marco Carvalho anunciou sua intenção de rodar em VHS, não tivemos dúvida que seria a hora de utilizarmos um truque que já tinhamos na manga faz muito tempo. Com isso, rearranjamos a trilha com uma pegada bem anos 80, substituindo o power trio roqueiro da original por bateria eletrônica, baixo atolado no chorus e sintetizadores medonhos. Mas o toque especial veio com a passagem desta trilha já mixada para uma fita cassete, e depois o retorno dessa para o computador, tirando proveito do efeito mastigado da fita na hora do “play” e da compressão natural. Agradecimentos especiais ao amigo Marcos Miller pelo empréstimo do lendário deck S-95 da Gradiente.

Like it wasn’t funny enough happening on our present days, the hit web-series received an special episode, recovering references, controversies and events from the city 30 years ago.

Initially a teaser was released on the internet.

After the premiere at the Balone retro party (which is even mentioned at the episode), the episode hit the web on the following Monday.

When director Marco Carvalho mentioned his intentions of doing an 80′s theme episode of his acclaimed web-series, we knew it’d be the time to test an old idea of ours.

After rearranging the series theme into a synth based style (including the use of the awful factory presets of our eletronic drum kit), we mixed it and did the transfer to a K7 tape using a S-95 deck lent from our friend Marcos Miler. Then we sent it back to the computer, taking advantage of the “chewing” effect from pressing the play button. Also, the K7 brings on a beautiful compression of its own.
