Alguns de vocês devem lembrar nosso experimento musical com balões de pouco mais de um ano atrás, o “Balloon Synth”:

Impressionados com essa afinidade, decidimos fazer uma busca no Google pelos autores do episódio e acabamos chegando no artista Jesse Moynihan. Checando detalhadamente, notamos que “Marceline’s Closet” foi ao ar em dezembro de 2011, e resolvemos perguntar a Jesse de onde veio a inspiração para a cena. Calculamos que o roteiro deve ter sido escrito mais ou menos na mesma época que os primeiros insights do nosso experimento surgiram.

Ele rapidamente nos respondeu, comentando que essa idéia foi fortemente inspirada por seu amigo Mike, um nerd musical avant garde que por 6 ou 7 anos vem alardeando a inevitável e eventual supremacia do balão como instrumento músical.

Ficamos felizes em saber que não estamos sozinhos nesta cruzada, com mais gente pelo mundo reconhecendo valoroso e inigualável som dos balões.

Ah, e não deixem de conferir o fenomenal trabalho do Jesse!

Everyone that knows us well already noticed we’ve been slightly obsessive about the amazing Adventure Time cartoon. But if there’s something on it that really blew our minds away was the episode “Marceline’s Closet”. Not only it’s one of the most bizarrely funny ones, but it introduced Finn’s sound of the futuristic balloon music.

Some of you might recall our very own balloon experiment from about an year ago, the “Balloon Synth”.

Impressed with such affinity, we went to Google to find the authors of this episode and narrowed it down to artist Jesse Moynihan. After finding out that “Marceline’s Closet” originally aired for the first time on December of 2011, we wrote to Jesse to ask where the inspiration for the scene came from since it was probably already written around the same time we had the first insights for our experiment.

He kindly (and quickly) replied telling us that the scene was a tribute to his buddy Mike, an avant garde music nerd that has been proclaiming the inevitable supremacy of balloons as a musical instrument for 6 or 7 years now.

We were so happy to find out that we’re not alone on this crusade, with more people around the globe recognizing the unique value of balloon music.

E aí vocês vão dizer “toda essa demora pra fazer uma página tão simples?”

Ok, a gente pede desculpas pelo atraso, mas é que realmente antes não sentíamos a necessidade urgente de ter um lugar para centralizar nossas novidades, nossas idéias e nosso portfólio.

E sempre soubemos que quando este dia chegasse, a página ia ser a nossa cara: simples, direta e focada no que importa: o que a gente pensa e o que a gente cria. Aqui não é lugar para encontrar “shares” e “retweets”.

Mas agora que está aqui, prometemos alimentar a página com frequência, com tudo que estivermos inventando e trabalhando, e volta e meia colocando alguns assuntos na roda para discussão. Os posts sempre serão bilíngues.

O formato é direto, é só entrar e já dar de cara com o conteúdo e usar as categorias lá em cima pra achar o que quer. Sem objetos dançantes, desculpem!

It took a little while, but we also have a webpage now.

And then you will say: “All this delay for such a simple looking page?”

Ok, we’re sorry for taking so long, but we weren’t really feeling a lot of pressure about having this hub for all the news, ideas and portfolio.

And we always knew that by the time we got here, it’d be just like us: simple, direct, focused on what really matters. How we think things and how we create them. This is definetly not the place to find “shares” and “retweets”.

But now that we’re here, we promise to feed this constantly, with everything we’re making up and working on, and even bringing out some food for thought. The posting will always be in portuguese and english.

It’s a straight line format, just get in and face the content, using the cathegories on the upper bar to find whatever you wanna see/hear. No gimmicks, sorry!
